How to make Gems Step by Step:
What Materials do you need:
- Resin and Hardener (most Resins are two-component)
- Tinting/Resin Paint
- Cups and Spoons/ Chopsticks to stir
- a Scale
- Silicone Mold of Stones (I bought it on Etsy)
- Aluminium Foil
- Scissors

- Tinting/Resin Paint
- Cups and Spoons/ Chopsticks to stir
- a Scale

- Aluminium Foil
- Scissors
STEP 1
~ Note:
With Water I could find out roughly how much Resin I needed later.
For more Quantities, you can mark a Line with a Pencil on the Cup. ~
For my Gems I need only 1 Tablespoon of Resin (= 8g)
For more Pieces the Weight is important.
STEP 2
To get some colorful Stones you can use Tinting Paint. I use a simple green Color.
Sometimes you need one or two Colortests to get the right Mixture Ratio.
For a beautiful transparent Green I need a Half-Drop.
Mixing the Paint with the Resin thoroughly.
When you are finished you can add the Hardener. For the Stone, it was about 10 Drops.
Each Resin has a Guide with a Resin-Hardener Mixture Ratio. For more Pieces, you can calculate out at the Scale of how much you need to mix Hardener based on the Weight.
Mix it again now.

STEP 3
Pour everything in the Mold of your Choice. With the Spoon you can get every last Drop out of the Cup.
If you have too much Resin as Leftover in the Cup, pour it into a second Form. So all is well used.
Tip: Use (with Caution) a Lighter and flame over the Surface of the Resin. This eliminates unnecessary Air Bubbles.
STEP 4
Cut out the Foil a rough Shape of the Gem. Something bigger than the Stone itself!
And put it on it.
Now just wait until everything is fixed and dry.
Tip: A warm Place speed up the Drying.

In approximately less than an Hour the Gem should be completely dry.
Take it out of the Mold. If it is still a little sicky dry it with a Hair Dryer. Wait 5 Minutes and cut the excess Foil.
The Gemstones are done ❤
